Gangjin-gun Operates Six One-Stop COVID-19 Treatment Centers
COVID-19 Testing, Diagnosis, and Prescription of Treatment Drugs Available All at Once
[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do, is operating six one-stop medical institutions where symptomatic individuals and COVID-19 patients can quickly receive testing, prescriptions, and treatment in preparation for the COVID-19 resurgence.
The one-stop medical institutions in the area provide respiratory patient care, COVID-19 diagnostic testing, oral antiviral prescriptions, and both in-person and remote consultations for confirmed cases all in one place. These institutions include Gangjin Medical Center, Yonsei Clinic, OK Internal Medicine Clinic, Wooridle Internal Medicine Clinic, Anapa Clinic, and Seongmo Clinic.
Through consultation with a doctor, seniors aged 60 and over, immunocompromised individuals, and those with underlying conditions can receive prescriptions for oral COVID-19 treatments. Confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients can make an appointment in advance to receive medical care.
In particular, antiviral oral treatments for COVID-19 (Paxlovid, Lagevrio) have been confirmed by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency to reduce the risk of severe illness by up to 63% in confirmed cases aged 60 and above.
Cha Eun-soon, Director of the Quarantine Policy Division, stated, “The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the area continues to rise, and there is concern about spread due to asymptomatic and hidden cases.” She urged, “If you have suspicious symptoms, please be sure to use the one-stop medical institutions to receive prompt diagnosis and treatment.”
