Jeong Cheong-rae Tops Supreme Council Member Race with 28.4%
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The Democratic Party of Korea held its second regional primary elections in Jeju and Incheon on the 7th, with party leader candidate Lee Jae-myung maintaining first place with a cumulative vote share of 74.15%.
In the afternoon, the Democratic Party conducted voting among party members in Jeju and Incheon at the Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon. Among the party leader candidates, Lee secured a decisive victory with a cumulative vote share of 74.15% (33,344 votes).
Following him, candidate Park Yong-jin received 20.88% (9,388 votes), placing second, and candidate Kang Hoon-sik came in third with 4.98% (2,239 votes).
Lee garnered 70.48% of the votes in Jeju and 75.40% in Incheon. Park received 22.49% in Jeju and 20.70% in Incheon, while Kang obtained 7.03% in Jeju and 3.9% in Incheon.
Among the Supreme Councilor candidates, Jung Cheong-rae ranked first with a cumulative vote share of 28.4% (25,542 votes). Following him, Go Min-jung received 22.24% (19,999 votes), and Park Chan-dae came next with 12.93% (11,627 votes).
Next were Jang Kyung-tae with 10.92% (9,826 votes), Seo Young-kyo with 8.97% (8,069 votes), Yoon Young-chan with 7.71% (6,933 votes), Ko Young-in with 4.67% (4,204 votes), and Song Gap-seok with 4.16% (3,742 votes).
