"Burden of Cooling Costs Amid Heatwave"… Ministry of Health and Welfare Provides Additional Operating Funds to Child Protection Agencies
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 7th that it will provide an additional operating fund of 200,000 KRW to help children using Child Protection Agencies spend a cool and healthy summer despite the heatwave.
Accordingly, 200,000 KRW will be provided for summer cooling expenses to 611 group homes nationwide, and 200,000 KRW will be given as fuel expenses to 80 Child Protection Agencies to support counseling and treatment-related business trips.
Group homes are small-scale facilities that provide residential conditions similar to a family and offer protection, care, and self-reliance support services to up to seven children. These include child group homes and shelters for abused children. Child Protection Agencies are institutions that carry out counseling and treatment services for the recovery of abused children and their families.
The government plans to promptly allocate the emergency support operating funds within this month to be effectively used for summer cooling expenses and will cooperate with local governments to ensure active distribution of local government funds alongside national subsidies.
