Expansion of Infertility Treatment Cost Support for Low Birthrate Response... Andong City, Available to All Citizens, Income Criteria Removed, Up to 1.5 Million KRW Support
Additional Support of 5 More Attempts for Infertility Treatments (Covered by Health Insurance) Exhausted Users
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Andong City, Gyeongbuk Province, is expanding support for treatment costs through the "Gyeongbuk-type Infertile Couple Treatment Cost Support Project" to address the increasingly serious low birthrate problem.
The current "Government-type Infertile Couple Treatment Cost Support Project" supports 90% of the patient's share of treatment costs for households with a median income of 180% or less, while households exceeding the income standard had to bear the full cost without additional support.
This Gyeongbuk-type support project will abolish the income criteria from August to expand the support target, support 100% of the patient's share of treatment costs, and increase the maximum support to 1.5 million KRW per treatment.
In cooperation with the Gyeongbuk Korean Medicine Association, various infertility treatment opportunities such as herbal prescriptions and Korean medicine treatments for infertile couples will also be provided.
Andong City will also provide an additional 5 treatments for those who have exhausted the number of infertility treatments covered by health insurance.
The eligible applicants are infertile couples who have had their residence in Andong City for more than six months as of the application date, and after submitting a diagnosis from a designated infertility treatment medical institution to the public health center, they must submit the support decision notice to the treatment medical institution.
