Gwangju Kimchi Town, Season 3 of Fermented Food Making Program Opens
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Kimchi Town announced on the 3rd that it will operate the ‘2022 Fermented Food Making Program Season 3’ at the Kimchi Fermented Food Hall within Kimchi Town.
This program was prepared to introduce the benefits and processes of fermented foods to citizens and provide them with the opportunity to make them directly.
In particular, it is composed of various themes by season, such as ▲Season 1 Pickled Vegetables ▲Season 2 Jeotgal (fermented seafood) ▲Season 3 Vinegar ▲Season 4 Makgeolli.
The Season 3 fruit vinegar course will be held under the theme ‘Making Fruit Vinegar with Experts’ from August 9 to September 27, every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., targeting general citizens (adults).
Notably, expert Kim Jeongsuk, CEO of Jeongnamjin Fermentation Nuri Yeongnam Cooperative Corporation, will participate and share the secrets of making fermented vinegar.
The lectures will be held over a total of 8 sessions: banana vinegar (August 9), watermelon vinegar (August 16), tomato vinegar (August 23), orange vinegar (August 30), grape vinegar (September 6), persimmon vinegar (September 13), apple vinegar (September 20), and pomegranate vinegar (September 27). However, the menu may change depending on the availability of ingredients.
Applications for participation will be accepted online on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 5th every Friday at 9 a.m. through the Kimchi Town website (one person per household, only one session out of the 8 sessions can be attended, 12 participants per session, no duplicate applications allowed). The experience fee is free.
