Global K-pop E-commerce Platform 'Ketapo' Introduces Automated Packaging System
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] HM International announced on the 2nd that it will introduce the CMC automatic packaging system for the first time in Korea. The system will be applied to Ktown4u.com, the world's No.1 K-pop commerce platform operated by the company.
The CMC automatic packaging system is a packaging technology adopted by global retailers such as Amazon and Walmart. In particular, HM International is the first to introduce CMC GENESYS in Korea. It automates the packaging process from box manufacturing to label printing. It operates up to 850 units per hour and runs up to 19 hours a day.
HM International expects that the introduction of the automatic packaging system will not only reduce the resources needed for workforce management but also improve productivity and reduce costs by minimizing unnecessary packaging materials. By reducing box size, it can significantly cut international freight costs calculated based on both weight and volume. The company anticipates securing competitiveness in shipping cost pricing.
Kim Wonjin, team leader of the logistics center, said, "The CMC automatic packaging system will be introduced at the logistics center in Wanchang-dong, Incheon, and will be operational in the third quarter of next year. By building smart logistics integrated with 4th Industrial Revolution technologies such as automation and unmanned systems, we will enhance stability and contribute to reducing logistics distribution costs."
