'Science Museum on a Midsummer Night' Night Opening at Seoul Municipal Science Museum from the 3rd to the 5th

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Science Museum announced on the 2nd that it will hold a nighttime opening event called 'A Midsummer Night's Science Museum' for five days from the 3rd to the 7th during the summer vacation, offering various science and cultural events both online and offline.
The events will take place throughout the museum, including the lobby, observatory, and annex, featuring nighttime celestial observation, a special climate exhibition, and a zero-waste campaign. During the five days of nighttime opening, the exhibition viewing hours will be extended from the usual 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM to 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM.
First, the 'Celestial Exhibition and Experience Booth' will operate, including activities such as enjoying the role of artificial satellites in the 3D theater, an astronomy quiz show, a science show at the country's largest artificial tornado generator, and nighttime celestial observation.
A special exhibition and participatory campaign themed 'Climate and Resource Circulation' will also be held. The special exhibition 'Climate Emergency' with the theme 'The Earth We Made! Threatening Our Daily Lives!' can be viewed at the Makers Studio in the museum annex and will be available until October 30. The exhibition hours will be extended only during the nighttime opening period.
The main event, operating from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM, is open to all visitors to the museum. The special exhibition stamp tour is open to everyone, while participation in the science experience booths will be on a first-come, first-served basis on-site.

Deputy Director Ko Joong-seok of the Seoul Science Museum said, “Through the various exhibitions and experience events during this nighttime opening, we hope to enhance citizens' understanding of the climate crisis and provide opportunities for citizens to experience diverse science cultures.” He added, “In preparation for the resurgence of COVID-19, wearing masks inside the museum is mandatory, and strict quarantine measures such as social distancing during performances will be enforced to ensure visitors can safely enjoy and participate.”
