President Yoon Dispatches Congratulatory Special Envoy to Colombian President's Inauguration Ceremony

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] President Yoon Suk-yeol announced on the 1st that a congratulatory special envoy delegation led by Park Deok-heum, a member of the People Power Party, will be dispatched to the inauguration ceremony of Gustavo Petro, the new president of Colombia, to be held on the 7th.
The special envoy delegation consists of Park Deok-heum as the head of the delegation, along with Park Dae-su and Hwang Bo-seung-hee, members of the same party.
The Presidential Office explained the background of dispatching the special envoy delegation, stating, "Colombia is our long-standing ally and the only Latin American country that participated in the Korean War. Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1962, the two countries have steadily developed a friendly cooperative relationship in various fields, including politics, economy, and human exchanges."
President Yoon plans to convey congratulatory greetings on President Petro's inauguration through the special envoy delegation and deliver a letter expressing hopes to further expand and develop bilateral relations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Korea-Colombia diplomatic relations this year.
