[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] KT announced on the 1st that it is recruiting new students for the full-time master's degree program linked to recruitment, established at KAIST, POSTECH, and Hanyang University.
KT signed its first agreement with Hanyang University last year to cultivate AI specialists and has been operating this program since March 2022. Subsequently, it collaborated with KAIST and POSTECH this year, and from the spring semester of 2023, the KT recruitment-linked full-time master's program is being operated at a total of three universities.
The recruitment fields for this round are ▲Speech Processing ▲Natural Language Processing ▲Graphics & Computer Vision ▲Machine Learning & Deep Learning, totaling four areas. KT plans to nurture about 30 AI specialists annually, totaling approximately 150 over five years through this program.
KT provides selected students with full tuition fees, including graduate school admission fees during their enrollment period, as well as research support funds. Additionally, POSTECH offers dormitories for students coming from distant locations. Students can utilize KT's latest GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) servers for AI research and experiments, and receive continuous mentoring from KT R&D experts.
During vacation periods, students can participate in KT research internships, directly analyzing and researching large-scale AI data owned by KT, experiencing issues in actual development environments. Interns receive a certain salary during their participation, and after graduation, they will work as researchers at KT Convergence Technology Institute and other divisions.
From August 1st, recruitment for new students for the 2023 spring semester master's programs at the three universities will begin, targeting domestic and international bachelor's degree holders (or expected graduates). Detailed information can be found on the KT recruitment website, and the final selection process will include ▲Document screening ▲Aptitude and coding tests ▲Practical and executive interviews ▲Graduate school admission screening.
