Ottogi Introduces 'Cup Noodle Jjajang Flavor and Rose Flavor'... Online Pre-Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Ottogi announced on the 1st that it has launched two new 'Cup Noodle' products using non-fried dangmyeon (glass noodles).
Building on the popularity of the 'Cup Noodle Spicy Jjimdak Flavor,' which was re-released last April after six years due to consumer demand, Ottogi has introduced additional non-soup type products. The two new products use dangmyeon made from potato and mung bean starch instead of wheat flour. The calorie content for each product is 170kcal for 'Cup Noodle Jjajang Flavor' and 165kcal for 'Rose Flavor,' making them low in calories.
With this new product launch, Ottogi now offers a total of 11 Cup Noodle lineup items, including Jjajang Flavor, Rose Flavor, Spicy Flavor, Udon Flavor, Spicy Jjimdak Flavor, and Spicy Rice Noodle Soup. Since Ottogi first introduced Cup Noodles in 2004, sales have steadily increased over the past three years due to growing demand for dried noodles amid health-conscious consumer trends. In particular, as of May, sales of Cup Noodle products increased by 21.1% compared to the previous year.
