Military COVID-19 Cases Increase by 2,277... 133 Confirmed at Nonsan Training Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 28th that there were 2,277 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases within the military.
As of 2 p.m. that day, the additional confirmed cases were 1,665 in the Army, 135 in the Navy, 261 in the Air Force, 122 in the Marine Corps, 84 in the Ministry of National Defense direct units, 5 in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and 5 in the Ministry of National Defense. The cumulative confirmed cases reached 206,223, of which 10,705 are currently being managed.
At the Army Training Center in Nonsan, Chungnam, 224 people were infected the previous day, and an additional 133 people were confirmed positive and quarantined from midnight to that day.

New recruits are required to undergo a rapid antigen test on the first day of arrival at the training center as enlisted personnel. If a recruit tests positive on the rapid antigen test and is subsequently confirmed positive by a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, they will be sent home.
