View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who is visiting ASEAN strategic cities on his first overseas trip since taking office, will visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, following Singapore.
On the 2nd at 6 p.m. (local time), Mayor Oh will attend the 'My Soul Seoul' event hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government at the GEM Center in Ho Chi Minh City. The purpose is to promote 'K-charm' in Vietnam to help Seoul's tourism, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, to make a fresh leap forward.
The event, held at the GEM Center in Ho Chi Minh City which can accommodate about 1,000 spectators, will focus on Seoul's beauty, fashion, and K-pop. Famous domestic makeup artist Sojung and hair artist Giwoo will decorate the stage, and a concert by the dance crew HOOK, popular from 'Street Woman Fighter,' and the singer Highlight is also scheduled. A mini fashion show showcasing 'K-fashion,' from Seoul's street fashion to hanbok, will also be held.
Mayor Oh is expected to make a surprise appearance on the runway wearing hanbok during the mini fashion show. He will then participate in a mini talk hosted by Hariwon, a Korean-Vietnamese star known as Vietnam's national singer. At this event, he will introduce Seoul tourist attractions and travel tips, including the upcoming Seoul Festa opening on the 10th and Gwanghwamun Square, which will open on the 6th of next month.

Mayor Oh said, "The tourism paths that were closed during the COVID period are reopening," adding, "Reopened Gwanghwamun Square and existing attractions loved worldwide, such as the Han River, are being upgraded with new looks, and nighttime tourist spots are greatly increasing, allowing people to enjoy a dynamic Seoul 24 hours a day."
