Gwangju Seo-gu Regional Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group Conducts Summer Heatwave Prevention Campaign
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Seogu Regional Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps (Director Moon Sun-ja) in Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 28th that on the 25th, they conducted a 'Summer Heatwave Prevention Campaign' targeting citizens at the busiest area in the district, the Shinsegae Department Store intersection in Gwangcheon-dong.
The campaign, held with the participation of about 20 members of the Regional Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps and district office officials, involved distributing cool towels and heatwave prevention guideline leaflets to promote safe summer practices among residents.
A Seogu official said, "We thank the members of the Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps who always strive for disaster management, and we hope they continue their efforts in prevention and response activities to avoid casualties from natural disasters during the summer."
Meanwhile, since May, the Seogu Regional Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps has been conducting patrol activities in vulnerable areas and heatwave shelters in preparation for summer natural disasters, and last month, they conducted pump operation training for rapid response in case of disasters.
