On the morning of the same day at 8:30 a.m., Deputy Governor Kim paid respects at the Suwon Memorial Tower, then received his appointment letter from Governor Kim Dong-yeon at the Gwanggyo Government Complex governor's office, beginning his schedule as the first Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of the 8th elected administration. Deputy Governor Kim wrote in the Memorial Tower guestbook, "I remember the noble sacrifices and dedication of the patriotic martyrs. I will do my best to restore Gyeonggi Province's economy and people's livelihoods."
To focus on urgent livelihood issues, Deputy Governor Kim skipped a separate inauguration ceremony and exchanged greetings with employees via the internal email system of the provincial office.
In his inaugural remarks, Deputy Governor Kim expressed his ambition, saying, "As Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs, I will actively work with Governor Kim Dong-yeon and public officials to overcome the current economic crisis and realize 'Gyeonggi, the center of change and opportunity.'"
He added, "Going forward, I will strive to make Gyeonggi Province a global hub for cutting-edge industries, a place that fosters corporate growth, ensures housing stability for vulnerable groups, and leads future agriculture and fisheries, so that residents can freely pursue opportunities without worries about their livelihoods."
Deputy Governor Kim began his official duties by receiving the first report on the direction and schedule for the formation and operation of the 'Gyeonggi Province Livelihood Measures Special Committee,' which was Governor Kim Dong-yeon's first directive.
Deputy Governor Kim will participate as the vice-chairman of the Livelihood Measures Special Committee, listening to voices from various sectors and considering policies for the recovery of the livelihood economy.
Born in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, Deputy Governor Kim graduated from Sekwang High School and Sungkyunkwan University, and earned a master's degree in Public Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management. He began his public service career after passing the 30th Administrative Examination, starting at the Planning and Budget Office. He has held positions such as Head of the Policy Coordination Team, Director General of External Economic Affairs, Director of Public Innovation Planning, and Second Vice Minister of Strategy and Finance. He also served as President of Korea East-West Power and as the 17th Chairman of the National Pension Service.
