Boramae Medical Center, together with the Gwanak-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, held the "Visiting Mind Health Care" event on the 26th at the Seoul Metropolitan Gwanak Senior Welfare Center.
This educational event was organized as part of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "Public Health Medical Cooperation System Establishment Project," aiming to early detect high-risk groups for mental health issues within the community through expert education and counseling, and to provide linked support in cooperation with related organizations.
The education, held for seniors at the Seoul Metropolitan Gwanak Senior Welfare Center, featured a lecture on elderly depression by Professor Oh Dae-jong of Boramae Medical Center's Department of Psychiatry. Following the lecture, a total craft experience program for preventing elderly depression was conducted by the Gwanak-gu Mental Health Welfare Center.
In particular, along with the educational program, elderly depression high-risk group screening tools and related leaflets that allow individuals to directly assess and evaluate their mental health were also provided.
Jung Seung-yong, director of Boramae Medical Center, stated, "We hope this educational event has contributed to improving the mental health of local residents," adding, "Going forward, Boramae Medical Center will continue to actively cooperate with related local organizations and do its best to reduce medical disparities between regions and solve essential public health medical issues."
In February last year, Boramae Medical Center was selected as the "Seoul Metropolitan Southeast Regional Responsible Medical Institution" under the Public Health Medical Cooperation System Establishment Project led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Seoul City to strengthen essential local medical services. On the 13th, it also held the "2022 Public Health Medical Cooperation System Establishment Project External Representative Council Meeting" aimed at strengthening the community public health medical network through discovering external cooperation models.
