Man in his 50s with finger severed while cutting tree urgently transferred to mainland
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] The Jeonnam Yeosu Maritime Police Station (Chief Park Je-su) announced on the 26th that they urgently transported a man in his 50s who had his finger severed while cutting wood on Gwangdo Island in Yeosu by patrol boat.
According to Yeosu Maritime Police, at around 3 p.m. that day, a report was received from a colleague that Mr. A (male, in his 50s) had his finger severed while cutting wood on Gwangdo, Samsan-myeon, Yeosu City.
Upon receiving the report, Yeosu Maritime Police dispatched a patrol boat and, while en route, took over the emergency patient Mr. A and his guardian from a civilian vessel and quickly moved to Chukjeong Port on Naro Island.
It was confirmed that the emergency patient Mr. A had his right middle finger severed by an electric saw while building a steel house that day. Upon arrival at Chukjeong Port on Naro Island, Mr. A was handed over to the 119 ambulance team and transported to a hospital located in Gwangju.
A Yeosu Maritime Police official said, "Working in the summer heat can distract attention and lead to safety accidents," and added, "We urge everyone to strictly follow safety rules during dangerous work."
