Gyeonggi Art Center Provides Customized Support for Local Artists
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Arts Center is promoting a customized support project for local artists.
On the 26th, Gyeonggi Arts Center announced that it will carry out the '2022 Gyeonggi-do Arts Recovery Support Project' to assist arts organizations and workers in the province who have faced difficulties due to COVID-19.
The center will support performance production costs, stages, and facilities for 30 selected local arts organizations chosen through an open recruitment in the first half of the year. The selected groups will perform sequentially at the center until the end of November.
Opportunities will also be given to local artists to appear in project performances produced by the center itself.
The center will present the 'Balagala Concert' on the 28th of this month and the play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' from September 16 to 18, with both performances selecting local artists from Gyeonggi Province as cast members through an open call.
Additionally, artists to perform at the '2022 Gyeonggi Classic Festival,' scheduled for October, will also be recruited.
During the festival, three teams will be selected to perform on the main stage, and twelve teams will be chosen to conduct classical busking at the outdoor theater, with each team receiving performance fees and other compensation.
Detailed information can be found on the Gyeonggi Arts Center website.
A center official emphasized, "We are carrying out various customized support projects for local artists who have faced difficulties due to COVID-19," adding, "We will continue to provide steady support for those who strive to create good works and stages despite challenging circumstances."
