Hong Nampyo, Changwon Special City Mayor, Discusses Joint Cooperation with Provincial Assembly Members to Resolve Current Issues

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a meeting inviting local provincial council members to discuss strategies for securing the 2023 provincial budget.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a meeting on the 26th at 10 a.m. in Conference Room 3, inviting local provincial council members to share major pending projects and discuss strategies for securing the 2023 provincial budget.
At the meeting, 19 provincial council members including Kang Yong-beom, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Council, Park Jun, Chairman of the Planning and Administration Committee, and Park Hae-young, Chairman of the Construction and Firefighting Committee, along with 12 senior officials including Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, attended to share the progress and difficulties of the city’s major pending projects and discuss ways to secure provincial funding.
The city proposed approximately KRW 79.2 billion in national and provincial funding for 26 key projects targeted for 2023 provincial budget allocation, including ▲ Construction of the Gyeongnam Viewer Media Center ▲ Construction of the Changwon Special City Democracy Hall ▲ Installation of the Marine Corps Founding Memorial Hall ▲ Establishment of a Clean Seawater Supply System ▲ Promotion of the Changwon National Industrial Complex Regeneration Project. The city also requested policy support and joint responses to secure national project selections and national funding.
Mayor Hong said, “To secure the driving force for advancing major pending projects, cooperation with Gyeongnam Province and close collaboration with provincial council members are more necessary than ever,” adding, “Securing next year’s provincial budget is essential to revive the stagnant Changwon economy,” and actively requested support.
He continued, “We will continue ongoing policy sharing and communication to ensure that pending issues are actively reflected and promoted.”
