Imsil-gun Launches 'Rice Consumption Promotion Campaign'
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, has actively launched a rice purchasing campaign to support local rice farmers who are struggling due to increased rice stockpiles and falling rice prices.
The county announced on the 25th that it recently conducted a rice consumption promotion campaign at the county office square in collaboration with the Imsil-gun branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Branch Manager Lee Jinsan).
The campaign was held with the participation of about 20 officials from related organizations including the Imsil Police Station, Jeonbuk 119 Safety Experience Center, and the Agricultural Cooperative.
This event was organized to give hope to rice farmers in Imsil-gun who are facing double hardships due to increased rice stockpiles and falling rice prices caused by decreased rice consumption, and to encourage the entire county's interest in revitalizing rice consumption.
As part of the campaign, Imsil-gun public officials and related organizations actively participated in the purchase movement of Sindongjin rice Haebodemi (10kg) produced in Imsil, purchasing about 1,000 bags.
The Imsil-gun branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation supported the rice consumption movement by donating 1,000 bags of 1kg sharing rice.
The county plans to take the lead in revitalizing rice consumption through organic cooperation with the Agricultural Cooperative and related organizations.
Lee Jinsan, Branch Manager of the Imsil-gun branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, said, “We are grateful that local governments and related organizations have united with one heart and one mind to actively participate in rice sharing and consumption promotion campaigns for rice farmers during this difficult time of decreased rice consumption.”
County Governor Shim Min said, “We prepared our rice consumption promotion campaign to ease the worries of farmers facing difficulties such as falling rice prices and increased stockpiles and to give them hope,” adding, “We ask for continuous interest in the warm companionship rice consumption promotion movement for farmers.”
