[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] In Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, a series of festivals will be held during the summer vacation season, starting with the 'Jeongseon Puppet Festival,' followed by the 'Auraji Raft Festival,' 'Sabuk Coal Culture Festival,' 'Hambaeksan Wildflower Festival,' and the 'Jeongseon Riverside Song Festival.'
The 'Jeongseon Puppet Festival (7.28~30)' will take place at Arari Village, Ari Saemteo, Jeongseon Culture and Arts Center, and Arari Puppet House, where popular puppet troupes from Korea and abroad will present fascinating stories through puppet shows.
The 'Auraji Raft Festival (7.29~31),' held along the Auraji riverside area, is themed around raft travel and features raft rituals and demonstrations, raft riding experiences, model raft making workshops, ferry boat experiences, stone bridge experiences, Jeongseon Arirang performances, and a youth dance song festival.
The 'Gohan Hambaeksan Wildflower Festival (7.30~8.7)' takes place at Hambaeksan, which has the largest wildflower colonies in Korea at an altitude of 1,330 meters, and the Manhangjae area. Visitors can enjoy colorful wildflowers and walk through the forest to enjoy the summer festival together.
The 'Sabuk Coal Culture Festival (7.29~31)' is held along Sabuk 650 Street under the theme "Revival! The Unextinguished Flame!" It consists of a memorial service for coal industry veterans, a coal song contest, miner's house performances, and a youth dance festival.
The 'Jeongseon Riverside Song Festival (8.6~7)' will be held on a special stage at the Jeongseon Joyang Riverside embankment, promoting the image of Jeongseon and Jeongseon Arirang widely.
