Hanwha Group Launches Space Talent Education Program 'Ujuui Joyakdol'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Hanwha Group announced on the 24th that it has started operating the space gifted education program for middle school students, "Pebbles of the Universe," which is run in collaboration with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
At the first event, the "Space Humanities Conference" held in Seoul the day before, Professor Jae-Seung Jeong of KAIST's Department of Bio and Brain Engineering and Professor Sang-Wook Kim of Kyung Hee University's Department of Physics attended and gave lectures on the theme of space.
Thirty middle school students selected as the first cohort of "Pebbles of the Universe" attended this event.
At the second Space Humanities Conference to be held next month, Dr. So-yeon Lee, Korea's first astronaut, and others will attend, and starting in September, the "Space Mission Project," in which students form teams with KAIST aerospace engineering professors and mentors from master's and doctoral programs to carry out projects, will also be conducted.

The education and training costs for this program are fully covered by Hanwha Group's "Space Hub," which oversees its space industry. Students with excellent academic performance will also be given opportunities for overseas exploration early next year.
