Boseong-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution in Disaster Management Evaluation for 4 Consecutive Years
2022 Disaster Management Evaluation Excellence Institutions... Agency Commendation and Special Tax Incentives
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has been selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years in the 'Disaster Management Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The '2022 Disaster Management Evaluation' was conducted targeting 301 disaster management responsible institutions nationwide (226 local governments, 22 central government agencies, 53 public institutions).
Boseong-gun has been selected as an excellent institution in the disaster management evaluation since 2018, and it is the only one in Jeollanam-do to receive the honor of being selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years.
As a special benefit for being selected as an excellent institution, it receives a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety along with special grants to establish proactive disaster preparedness.
In this evaluation, Boseong-gun received favorable reviews in areas such as ▲disaster management fund management performance, ▲disaster and safety accident reduction activities, ▲maintenance of disaster prevention facilities, ▲disaster crisis management performance, ▲measures to minimize damage from climate disasters, and ▲cultivation of initial disaster response capabilities.
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, "Despite difficult circumstances such as COVID-19, the safety policies promoted together with the residents have borne fruit, resulting in being selected as an excellent institution in the disaster management evaluation for four consecutive years." He added, "We will continue to prioritize securing the safety of residents and do our best to realize 'Safety No.1 Boseong' by continuously promoting disaster management projects."
The disaster management evaluation has been operated since 2005 by the Minister of the Interior and Safety to diagnose the disaster management capabilities of disaster management responsible institutions. In this evaluation, the Central Disaster Management Evaluation Team comprehensively assesses 26 indicators such as ▲disaster preparedness administrative and financial management, ▲institutional leadership, ▲facility safety, and ▲crisis management response, and assigns three grades: excellent, average, and insufficient.
