The event was attended by Lee Seongheon, head of Seodaemun District Office, Kim Intae, CEO of NH Nonghyup Life Insurance, and related officials.
The business agreement between NH Nonghyup Life Insurance and Seodaemun District Office was carried out as part of practicing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. The purpose is to provide living area greenery to local customers and citizens to create a sustainable society.
They agreed to continuously cooperate with 50 million KRW annually for three years from 2022 to 2024.
Through this business agreement, NH Nonghyup Life Insurance plans to find small-scale idle spaces within Seodaemun District and utilize them as green spaces. Similar to the urban forest created last May on the traffic island at Hongunsa Intersection, they will carry out projects to improve the urban environment, which is deteriorating due to vehicle fine dust and urban heat island effects in the city.
NH Nonghyup Life Insurance also plans to fully support the creation of the autumn flower road along Hongjecheon Stream. Seodaemun District Office creates flower roads along the Hongjecheon Stream walking trail every autumn to provide a community resting place.
This autumn, NH Nonghyup Life Insurance will partially support the necessary funds for the Hongjecheon flower road creation. In addition, NH Nonghyup Life Insurance donated rice worth 50 million KRW to Seodaemun District Office. The donated rice will be used to stabilize the diet of vulnerable groups within Seodaemun District.
Lee Seongheon, head of Seodaemun District Office, said, “This business agreement has become an opportunity to continuously exchange with NH Nonghyup Life Insurance and the local community,” and added, “We express our gratitude to NH Nonghyup Life Insurance for helping Seodaemun District become a better place to live through support for flower road and small-scale green space development.”
