[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Home care startup Caring has released a new brand video featuring singers Jang Minho and Jeong Dongwon.
The Caring video with singers Jang Minho and Jeong Dongwon includes content related to improving the treatment of care workers, such as raising their hourly wages. This is humorously portrayed through a 'tikitaka' exchange between the two singers. The video begins with singer Jang Minho shouting, "Starting the number one home care Caring Show." Singer Jeong Dongwon explains the reason for the wage increase, saying, "Caring raised the hourly wage of care workers reflecting the soaring prices."
With this increase, Caring's current home care hourly wage has reached 13,000 won. Although the previous wage was already higher than the industry average, Caring explained that the additional raise was made because higher satisfaction among care workers leads to better quality care services.
According to Caring, as of July this year, the number of care workers affiliated with the company has reached 15,000, and the satisfaction rate among care workers is 96%. Marketing Director Noh Inhwan of Caring explained the high satisfaction rate among care workers by saying, "Caring does not charge referral or membership fees, but instead provides severance pay and long-term service allowances."
Director Noh also added, "Thanks to many care workers providing high-quality care services, since its establishment in 2019, the cumulative number of beneficiaries (elderly) managed by the company has exceeded 6,400," and "Since the announcement of the wage increase and the release of the new video, the number of job applications from care workers has more than doubled compared to usual."
