The first generation of youth supporters for urban regeneration in Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, are taking an oath at the inauguration ceremony.

The 11 supporters selected through an open recruitment will carry out various activities from July to September over three months to revitalize shared urban regeneration facilities within the city.
They plan to encourage resident participation and interest through idea generation and both online and offline promotions.
The city will operate programs such as urban regeneration workshops, shared facility tours, expert mentoring, and urban regeneration hackathons to enhance the youth’s understanding and interest in urban regeneration projects and strengthen the supporters’ capabilities.
At the end of September, when the supporters’ activities conclude, outstanding supporters will be selected and awarded through a final presentation, and the 2nd term will be recruited in October.

A city official stated, “This group was formed to expand the foundation for youth participation in urban regeneration projects and to revitalize the shared facilities created through these projects. We hope that the youth will grow as key agents of urban regeneration through continuous participation, not just as simple promoters.”
