KOSPI Continues to Decline in the Afternoon... Individuals Alone Net Buyers
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The KOSPI continues its downward trend into the afternoon session.
At 2:09 PM on the 19th, the KOSPI stood at 2,364.79, down 0.44% (10.46 points) from the previous trading day. The index opened the day at 2,367.52, down 0.33% (7.73 points) from the previous day. In the market, individual investors are the sole buyers. Individuals purchased stocks worth 144.3 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 26.7 billion KRW and 126.7 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics fell 2.10%, and SK Hynix dropped 1.39% compared to the previous day. Additionally, LG Energy Solution (-2.04%), NAVER (-2.23%), and Samsung SDI (-0.55%) declined, while LG Chem (1.36%), Kia (1.50%), Samsung Biologics (1.36%), and Hyundai Motor (1.08%) rose.
The KOSDAQ index at the same time was up 0.31% (2.39 points) from the previous trading day, standing at 779.11. The KOSDAQ opened at 773.73, down 0.38% (2.99 points) from the previous day, but turned upward during the morning session. In the market, individuals and institutions bought stocks worth 33.5 billion KRW and 11.9 billion KRW, respectively, while foreigners were the sole sellers with stocks worth 37.3 billion KRW sold.
