The campus opening ceremony was held on the afternoon of the 18th on the 4th floor of the Leaders Mark Building in Centum City, Haeundae-gu.
The event was attended by Lee Jun-seung, Director of Digital Economy Innovation Office of Busan City; Son Jeong-hyun, CEO of Shinsegae I&C; Ahn Seong-min, Chairman of Busan City Council; and Jin Yang-hyun, Director of Busan Economic Promotion Agency.
The ‘Shinsegae I&C Busan Campus’ is the first youth education institution established by Shinsegae I&C in cooperation with a local government. It covers an area of 450㎡ and is equipped with two classrooms and two project rooms, a lounge, an instructor research room, an office, and a career counseling room.
Here, various education programs aimed at enhancing the employment competitiveness of local youth will be operated, starting with the practical software (SW) project-based education program called ‘Sparos Academy.’
Busan City, Shinsegae I&C, and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency plan to jointly support graduates of the education program to find employment in local companies. In addition to software education, they will develop and operate various programs required to strengthen young people’s employment capabilities.
The first course at the ‘Shinsegae I&C Busan Campus,’ ‘Sparos Academy,’ is a practical project-based education program designed to equip trainees preparing for employment in the software field with the necessary skills as developers.
Thirty first-generation trainees were selected in early July, and the education began on the 18th.
Over 18 weeks until November 18, the program will proceed in stages including ‘Start Camp,’ ‘Clone Coding Project,’ and ‘Company-linked Project,’ with support such as specialized employment consulting for software job sectors and mentoring with current developers.
Son Jeong-hyun, CEO of Shinsegae I&C, stated, “We will build a virtuous cycle ecosystem that strengthens the competitiveness of young people while producing excellent talents desired by companies, enabling them to find employment in Busan companies. We will actively work with Busan City to enhance the region’s competitiveness.”
