Sign Win-Win Cooperation Agreement with Anda Asset Management for Construction
Gyeongnam Changwon Special City and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation signed a win-win cooperation agreement with Hanwha Construction, LG CNS, and Anda Asset Management to promote the construction of the Changwon Data Center.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] On the 15th at 2 p.m., Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation signed a win-win cooperation agreement with Hanwha Construction, LG CNS, and Anda Asset Management in the city hall meeting room to promote the construction of the Changwon Data Center.
Attending the signing ceremony were Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City; Park Seong-gil, Head of the Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation; Choi Kwang-ho, CEO of Hanwha Construction; Kim Young-seop, CEO of LG CNS; and Park Hyung-soon, CEO of Anda Asset Management.
According to the agreement, Hanwha Construction, LG CNS, and Anda Asset Management will build and operate a data center with a total floor area of over 44,000 ㎥.
This scale can accommodate more than 100,000 servers in the Changwon National Industrial Complex, with over 400 billion KRW of private capital expected to be invested. Detailed plans will be established aiming for operation in 2026. The city and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation will spare no administrative support to ensure the smooth promotion of the data center construction.
In addition, in connection with the data center, an innovation center that can be used as a corporate promotion hall related to the 4th industrial revolution and an IT education space, as well as solar power generation and exercise spaces for local residents, will also be created.
The city and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation plan to efficiently and stably manage large volumes of data generated by the expansion of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and metaverse through this data center construction, and based on this, create an environment to emerge as the number one hub of the 4th industrial revolution.
Director Park said, “Through the data center, the first to be built in the Changwon National Industrial Complex, we hope to accelerate the digital transformation of traditional manufacturing based on data and become a new growth engine of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, including ICT industry agglomeration.”
