Geochang-gun Opens Training Program for Cultural Planning Experts
Expectations for Improvement in Geochang Cultural Planning Capability
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, opened a training course on cultural planning expert development on the 13th at the Sangsang Living Culture Center for 17 cultural activists and prospective cultural activists who are working to become cultural planning leaders in the region.
At the opening ceremony, Kim Eun-ah, head of the Miryang Cultural City Center, gave a lecture titled "The Role of Cultural Planners Working with Local Residents."
The cultural planning expert training will run for 12 weeks until September 28, covering theoretical education to enhance basic skills and expertise as local cultural planners, including understanding cultural planning, writing proposals, regional revitalization through cultural planning, and methods to integrate local elements.
Additionally, the program will broaden participants' perspectives through field trips to advanced sites and provide practical experience through project implementation, with results confirmed at a performance presentation, making it a valuable course combining theory and practice.
In the lecture, Head Kim said, "The role of a cultural planner is not to create the culture I want, but to identify the needs desired by residents and enable them to participate with curiosity."
