View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] As of the afternoon of the 13th, more than 100mm of rain fell in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul. Seoul is expected to receive an additional 50mm of rain by tomorrow, while Incheon and southern Gyeonggi Province are expected to see about 80mm more.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that heavy rain of 30 to 50mm per hour will continue until night in Seoul, southern Gyeonggi, and central and southern inland Gangwon. The Chungcheong region will experience rain until early tomorrow morning, and the Jeolla region will see rain accompanied by gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning from early tomorrow morning, with rainfall of 30 to 50mm per hour.
By the morning of the 14th, an additional 30 to 80mm of rain is expected in Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeongbuk (excluding the east coast), and Ulleungdo and Dokdo. Seoul, northern Gyeonggi, central and southern inland Gangwon, and the Gyeongnam region are expected to receive 10 to 60mm more, while northern inland Gangwon, Gangwon Yeongdong, and the Gyeongbuk east coast are expected to see 5 to 40mm more rain.
The Korea Meteorological Administration explained, "The total precipitation in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, from the 13th to the 14th is expected to be around 100 to 150mm," adding, "The expected rainfall may be adjusted as the stationary front associated with the low pressure system moves south."

On Thursday the 14th afternoon, showers of about 5 to 20mm are expected in eastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, and northern inland Gyeongbuk. On the 15th, unstable atmospheric conditions are expected to bring showers of about 5 to 40mm. On the 15th, rainfall is expected to be heavy, with about 20mm per hour.

Meanwhile, due to the heavy rain on this day, various parts of the metropolitan area were flooded and traffic was restricted. As the water level of the Jungnangcheon River rose, Seoul city has fully closed the entrance to the Dongbu Expressway Surak Underpass to Seongsu JC section from 4:10 p.m. Since 4:13 p.m., traffic has also been restricted on the Naebu Circular Road Majang entrance to Seongdong JC section. Around 2 p.m., at the Shinansan Line railway construction site near KTX Gwangmyeong Station, soil and muddy water flowed in, temporarily flooding the platform and waiting room.
