Yeosu World Expo Site, a Festival of 15,000 Sunflower Blooms
Scheduled to be open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] A festival of 15,000 sunflower blossoms is unfolding at the Yeosu World Expo site, marking the 10th anniversary of the expo.
Since last April, the Expo Foundation, local volunteer group KkotSamo, and the Yeosu branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association have been carefully cultivating sunflower seedlings on a 5,000 square meter site.
The sunflower field is scheduled to be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until around the 10th of next month.
A free admission event to the Sky Tower is also ongoing until the 19th. Visitors can take photos with the Sky Tower in the background at the sunflower field and upload them to SNS.
Meanwhile, the 10th anniversary commemorative event of the 2012 Yeosu World Expo will be held from July 22 to 31 with various programs across the Expo site and throughout Yeosu city.
