Jeongeup-si Recruiting Students for 'Basic Farming Education for New Farmers'
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup Agricultural Technology Center in Jeonbuk announced on the 13th that it is recruiting students for the ‘2022 Second Half New Farmer (Return to Farming/Return to Rural) Basic Farming Technology Education’ until the 5th of next month.
This education aims to help new farmers and returnees to farming/rural areas adapt to rural life, promote successful rural settlement through basic farming technology education, and enhance understanding of agriculture.
The education targets are returnees to farming/rural areas who have moved to Jeongeup for farming purposes or those planning to return.
Applications can be submitted by submitting the application form to the Agricultural Technology Center’s Technical Support Division or the Eup/Myeon/Dong offices by the 5th of next month.
The education will be conducted over a total of 10 sessions and about 40 hours from the 17th of next month to September 1st.
The number of recruits is 30, prioritizing new farmers and returnees who have moved to Jeongeup within 5 years, and additionally selecting interested local farmers.
The education content will include the direction and support policies for return to farming/rural areas, basic agricultural management practices, legal knowledge that farmers should know, major crop cultivation techniques, creating a personal agricultural brand, and will provide basic farming technology and information for successful farming settlement necessary for new farmers.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, “We hope for the active interest and participation of returnees to farming/rural areas,” and added, “We will promote substantial education to provide direction for those who do not know what and how to start and to help with farming settlement.”
