"Summer Health Boost at Convenience Stores" CU Launches Bokbunja Ready-to-Eat Meal Series
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] CU is sequentially launching a ready-to-eat meal series using bokbunja from Gochang, Jeollabuk-do, to celebrate Chobok (the first of the three hottest days of summer).
According to CU on the 12th, bokbunja is a representative natural tonic food containing anthocyanins, vitamins, and minerals, which not only helps relieve fatigue but is also effective in improving energy loss caused by the heatwave.
The newly introduced ready-to-eat meal series is developed using 100% pure Gochang bokbunja extract and consists of five types: lunchbox, rice ball, gimbap, hamburger, and sandwich.
The Gochang Bokbunja Neobiani Bansang Lunchbox (6,500 KRW) is a product composed of bokbunja rice topped with neobiani grilled with bokbunja extract and tender, mild smoked duck meat. It includes four side dishes such as stir-fried kimchi and stir-fried nuts, emphasizing a hearty health food feel.
The Neobiani Triangle Gimbap (1,400 KRW) and Gimbap (3,500 KRW) are filled with neobiani seasoned with bokbunja. The Neobiani Sandwich (4,000 KRW) and Bokbunja Tteokgalbi Hamburger (3,500 KRW) are topped with salad dressed in bokbunja extract to enhance freshness.
Starting with the Gochang Bokbunja ready-to-eat meal series, CU plans to sign a business agreement with the Jeollabuk-do Provincial Government on the 21st of this month to develop products using local specialties and expand sales channels for local farms and agro-food companies. Subsequently, ready-to-eat meals highlighting the excellence of Jeollabuk-do agricultural products will be introduced sequentially.
Additionally, CU will hold giveaways and discount events to help customers shop economically.
For customers purchasing Samgyetang, a giveaway event will be held for three days?from two days before to the day of Chobok, Jungbok, and Malbok (the three hottest days)?including Harim chicken breast Samgyetang, frozen Samgyetang, and half-smoked chicken. Also, about ten types of chicken breast products in bar, cube, and steak forms, popular among health-conscious consumers, will be offered as two for the price of one.
Moreover, on the membership application (app) Pocket CU reservation purchase tab, a special sale will be held until Malbok on the 15th of next month, offering free delivery of health foods such as abalone, Samgyetang, grilled eel, and flank steak, as well as seasonal fruits like watermelon and pineapple.
