Overseas Arrivals' PCR Test Results to Be Registered in 'Q Code' Starting from the 14th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced on the 11th that starting from the 14th, it will introduce a function to register test results after entry in the Quarantine Information Pre-Entry System (Q-code) to monitor overseas entrants.
Accordingly, overseas entrants can register their polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results, which must be taken within 3 days after entry, on the Q-code. Local government public health centers will check the test results of entrants registered on the Q-code and encourage testing and registration for those who have not registered.
Entrants who have not used the Q-code before can register their tests by entering their passport number, date of birth, and date of entry starting from the 14th.
PCR tests can be taken at the public health center in the jurisdiction of the place of residence for nationals or long-term foreign residents, and at airport COVID-19 testing centers or nearby medical institutions for short-term foreign residents.
When registering test results, it is also acceptable to upload a captured image of the text message containing the name, testing institution name, and PCR test result.

Baek Kyung-ran, Commissioner of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, said, "With concerns about the influx of new variants such as BA.4 and BA.5 recently, and the normalization of international flights leading to an increase in the number of entrants, we will continuously respond to the possibility of new variant influx by simplifying the registration of test results to efficiently manage overseas entrants."
