On the 11th, Hyundai Heavy Industries announced that it has prepared support measures to help in-house partner companies secure safety management personnel stably and improve their capabilities to prevent accidents that may occur on site.
First, Hyundai Heavy Industries has newly established a "Safety Management" course in the Hyundai Heavy Industries Group technical trainee training program, conducting high-quality safety education for about a month by combining its own education program with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's training program.
Those who complete the training will be provided with recruitment-linked opportunities to be employed as safety managers for in-house partner companies, and it is expected that recruitment of safety managers will be facilitated as this will be expanded to external partner companies and affiliates in the future.
Along with this, Hyundai Heavy Industries is also expanding support for safety managers of in-house partner companies.
Since 2017, Hyundai Heavy Industries has mandated the appointment of safety managers for in-house partner companies and has been providing appointment support funds of up to 3 million KRW per month per safety manager.
Through this system improvement, Hyundai Heavy Industries has increased the number of safety managers eligible for appointment support funds from one to two for partner companies with 50 or more but fewer than 100 regular workers.
Additionally, the age eligibility for safety manager appointment has been relaxed from under 58 years old to under 62 years old, expanding hiring opportunities for experienced on-site personnel.
Furthermore, Hyundai Heavy Industries plans to continuously discover various support measures to improve the overall management environment of partner companies and grow together by holding regular meetings between top management and representatives of in-house partner companies.
