[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Hong Taeyong, mayor of Gimhae City, Gyeongnam, held his first executive meeting since taking office on the 11th.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Hong, the vice mayor, heads of departments and bureaus, heads of major departments, and heads of affiliated organizations such as the Urban Development Corporation.
On this day, Mayor Hong said, "If the three types of communication?between citizens and public officials, between the mayor and staff, and among staff themselves?are well established, it will not be difficult to realize the city's vision of a warm and happy city, Gimhae, where dreams come true," and ordered, "Related departments should prepare practical measures to strengthen communication administration."
He continued, "Let us strive to gain the trust and sympathy of citizens who have high expectations for the newly launched 8th term of the civil administration," adding, "Fulfilling the promises made to citizens is the most important, so I hope you focus on fulfilling pledges by resolving urgent issues and preparing new growth engines."
Mayor Hong also spoke about personnel placement, fair personnel management, and cooperation with the council.
He said, "To carry out proactive and innovative administration, appropriate personnel placement and rational and fair personnel management are fundamental," and instructed, "Establish principles of fair personnel management and system-based personnel management that public officials can empathize with, and implement them from the next personnel appointment."
He then emphasized, "The council is a reliable partner that goes beyond the role of checking the executive branch to jointly consider and solve administrative issues," and stressed, "Communication and cooperation with the 9th Gimhae City Council are necessary."
