'Good Morning America 2022 Summer Concert Series' Opening
Fans Line Up Early Morning "Atmosphere and Energy Are Amazing"
aespa became the first K-pop girl group to appear on the 'Good Morning America 2022 Summer Concert Series,' an outdoor concert hosted every summer by ABC TV's flagship morning program, Good Morning America, featuring top-tier stars.
On the 8th (local time), aespa spectacularly opened the event held at Rumsey Playfield, a large venue in Central Park, Manhattan, New York. They performed five songs, starting with their debut track "Black Mamba," followed by pre-release songs "Life's Too Short" and "Dokkaebi Bul," the hit "Next Level," and the title track "Girls" from their second mini-album.
Member Winter said in an interview with hosts TJ Holmes and Amy Robach, "It's great to meet our fans in person like this, and the atmosphere and energy here are amazing." When Ningning was asked about her experience at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (Coachella) in April, she replied, "It was an honor to debut on a live stage I had wanted to see for a long time." Coachella is the largest music festival in the U.S., held annually for six days in Indio, California, organized by Anschutz Entertainment.
Karina attributed their record-breaking success each year to "the great love and support from fans," adding, "We want to show even better music and performances." Giselle described the new mini-album "Girls" as showcasing "a much more powerful side of aespa," and urged fans to check out the music video as "Season 1 of the universe story concludes." Fans responded with enthusiastic cheers and applause to their fluent English answers.

Before aespa, BTS was the only K-pop artist to have performed at the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series.
