Kakao Pay "Operate Your Own Membership with QR Check-in Terminals"
Recycling QR Check-in Devices with Reduced Usage Since COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Small business owners will be able to provide store-specific membership services using QR check-in terminals.
Kakao Pay announced on the 5th that it established such a system on the 28th of last month. Accordingly, small business owners can now offer simple membership point accumulation services based on desired conditions and periods at their stores by using the 'Kakao Pay Business' application (app) without the need to build a separate system. Customers can also accumulate various points at the store through Kakao Pay's 'Membership' service without installing a separate app or signing up for the service.
The membership point accumulation service is available on any smartphone or tablet PC connected to wireless internet. If the QR check-in terminal is already being used for other purposes or sold as secondhand, other unused terminals can be utilized.

This led us to plan this service," adding, "We will continue to constantly think about creating many beneficial functions for small business owners."
