The Return of 'Twitter 100 Million Followers' Musk... SNS Comeback with Photo Meeting the Pope
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, who had remained silent after disappearing from Twitter, has resumed his social media activity by sharing a photo of his meeting with Pope Francis, major media outlets including the AP reported on the 2nd (local time).
CEO Musk posted a photo on Twitter the previous afternoon showing him with his four teenage sons meeting Pope Francis, writing, "Honored to meet the Pope yesterday." However, he did not mention why he met the Pope or what they discussed.
With over 100 million followers, CEO Musk had not posted anything since the 21st of last month, marking the longest gap on his Twitter account since October 2017.
The news agency reported, "The Pope often meets famous figures privately," adding, "In meetings with corporate CEOs, he usually urges them to use their wealth and technology to help the extremely poor."
CEO Musk's Twitter follower count (100 million) ranks sixth worldwide. He is not only a wealthy individual but also a famous influencer whose single statement can move markets. Including Musk, only six people have over 100 million Twitter followers. The top is former U.S. President Barack Obama with 132.1 million followers. Following him are pop stars Justin Bieber (114.1 million), Katy Perry (108.8 million), Rihanna (106.9 million), and Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo (101.3 million), who ranks fifth, just above Musk.
