[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province is operating the 'Summer Disaster Preparedness Animal Medical Support Team' to proactively prepare for and support livestock farms affected by heatwaves, monsoons, heavy rains, and livestock infectious diseases.
According to the province on the 1st, the 'Animal Medical Support Team' has been formed with livestock quarantine officers, public veterinarians, and local livestock cooperative officials, and will operate from this day until the situation is resolved.
The support team will dispatch to the site upon requests from livestock farms affected by disasters such as heatwaves or heavy rains, directly assess the damage to livestock, and check for any abnormalities in livestock diseases through clinical observation.
Additionally, the team will provide emergency medical support to affected farms and supply veterinary medicines (antibiotics, antipyretics, immune boosters, analgesics, etc.) and quarantine supplies (fly and mosquito control agents, diagnostic kits, etc.).
