Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, Gyeonggi Institute of Economy and Science, and Korea Ceramic Foundation Receive 'Excellent' Management Evaluation
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, and Korea Ceramic Foundation were found to have performed well in management last year.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 29th that, as a result of evaluating the management performance of 17 public institutions under the province last year, there were no A grades, and six institutions including Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, Korea Ceramic Foundation, Gyeonggi Art Center, Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, and Next Generation Convergence Technology Institute received a 'B grade.'
Nine institutions including Gyeonggi Agricultural and Marine Products Promotion Agency received a C grade, and two institutions including Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation and Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center received a D grade.
KINTEX, which was included in the 2021 evaluation, was excluded from this evaluation as its management performance will be evaluated by Goyang City from 2022 to 2024.
In this evaluation, Korea Ceramic Foundation and Next Generation Convergence Technology Institute rose one grade from C to B, and Gyeonggi Youth Training Center rose one grade from D to C. On the other hand, Gyeonggi Research Institute and Gyeonggi Job Foundation dropped one grade from B to C, and Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation dropped one grade from C to D.
Regarding the evaluation of heads of 17 invested and funded institutions, similar to the institution evaluation, there were no A or E grades. Eight heads, including those of Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation and Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, received a B grade. Seven heads, including those of Gyeonggi Women's Family Foundation and Gyeonggi Job Foundation, received a C grade, and two heads, including those of Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation and Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, received a D grade. The evaluation results for the presidents of three local public corporations, including Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation, will be finalized around October according to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's local public enterprise evaluation results.
Based on this evaluation, the province plans to take follow-up measures such as issuing warnings and preparing management improvement plans for institutions and heads with a D grade. Institutions and heads with a grade of C or higher will receive performance bonuses within the budget.
Along with follow-up measures based on the management evaluation, the province will promote improvements to the evaluation indicators reflecting the values of the 8th elected provincial government and responses to the post-COVID environment. To this end, the province will introduce new indicators reflecting recent changes in public institutions' management conditions and policy environments, such as reducing similar and overlapping indicators and sunset provisions for goal achievement indicators.
