On this day, the two institutions agreed to pursue the following initiatives: ▲ discovering joint projects and building networks related to the standardization and industrialization of Korean medicine ▲ information exchange for research purposes in Korean medicine ▲ policy research and development in Korean medicine ▲ building and activating big data for Korean medicine ▲ dispatching experts and jointly hosting workshops and academic conferences.
This business agreement will be implemented more concretely in line with the 4th Comprehensive Plan for the Promotion and Development of Korean Medicine (2021-2025) and the launch of the new government.
As specific measures, the two institutions plan to collaborate in various ways to discover innovative industries that utilize data in the field of Korean medicine and to participate in the realization of a digital platform government.
To this end, the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development will design an integrated database for herbal medicine experiment information, while the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine will promote research on standardization projects and the discovery of new efficacies based on data in Korean medicine.
In addition, the two institutions plan to cooperate by dispatching experts to each other, jointly hosting workshops and academic conferences to share research results, and discovering future policy directions for the Korean medicine industry.
Jung Changhyun, director of the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, said, “If both institutions collaborate under the shared goal of advancing Korean medicine, we expect that outstanding business results in the industry and research achievements on the future value of Korean medicine will come together, making Korean medicine the world’s leading traditional medicine.”
