Hong Seong-hwa, Former Director of Samsung Changwon Hospital, Appointed as Director of Myongji Medical Foundation

Director Hong graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and obtained his master's and doctoral degrees from the same graduate school. After serving as an assistant professor at Chungbuk National University Hospital and a research fellow at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, he began practicing at Samsung Seoul Hospital in 1994. He has held positions such as head professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, head of the Otorhinolaryngology Department at Samsung Seoul Hospital, director of the Clinical Trial Center, deputy director of research, director of the Future Medicine Research Institute, and director of the Life Sciences Research Institute.
In particular, in 2016, he served as the director of Samsung Changwon Hospital, where he vigorously improved the medical system by recruiting excellent medical staff in large numbers and enhancing facilities and equipment, upgrading Samsung Changwon Hospital last year to become the first tertiary general hospital in Changwon City.
Director Hong's term will begin on the 1st of next month. From that day, he will also start seeing patients in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Myongji Hospital.
