According to industry sources on the 24th, on the 25th and 26th, the perceived temperature is expected to soar above 33 degrees Celsius along the east coast of Gangwon and the Yeongnam region. Other areas will also experience perceived temperatures rising to around 31 degrees Celsius, making it hot nationwide.
After the monsoon rain swept across the country once, high temperature and humid air is flowing into the lower atmosphere riding the southwesterly winds, making it very muggy.
The lowest morning temperatures on the 25th are expected to be between 19 and 24 degrees Celsius, and the highest daytime temperatures between 26 and 34 degrees Celsius.
Expected minimum and maximum temperatures in major cities are Seoul 21°C and 31°C, Incheon 20°C and 28°C, Daejeon 23°C and 31°C, Gwangju 23°C and 30°C, Daegu 23°C and 33°C, Ulsan 22°C and 30°C, and Busan 22°C and 26°C.
On the 26th, morning low temperatures will range from 21 to 26 degrees Celsius, exceeding 20 degrees in most parts of the country, slightly higher than on the 25th, while daytime highs will be similar to those on the 25th.
With hot and humid air settled in the lower atmosphere and cold air entering the upper atmosphere, the atmosphere will become unstable, causing showers in various places.
Additionally, on the 25th, showers will pour 10 to 60 mm from morning to evening in southern Chungnam and Honam, and from morning to evening in the inland areas of Gyeongsang. On the 26th, showers will occur from dawn in eastern Gyeonggi and Yeongseo of Gangwon, continuing into the afternoon in the metropolitan area, Yeongseo of Gangwon, inland Chungcheong, inland Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and western Gyeongsang.
Due to the nature of showers, there will be significant differences in rainfall intensity and amount between regions.
As showers fall, gusts of wind exceeding 70 km/h (20 m/s) are expected, along with thunder and lightning. On the 25th, hail may also fall, so the Korea Meteorological Administration urges careful management of facilities and crops.
