Jinju City’s Tourism Character ‘Hamo’ Appears on Show Me the Mascot
Participation of Regional Representative Mascots at the Seoul International Tourism Fair
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Harmo, the tourism ambassador of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, actively fulfilled the role of tourism ambassador by participating in the 37th Seoul International Tourism Expo held at COEX, Seoul on the 24th.
On this day, Harmo took part in a special event called Show Me the Mascot, which featured mascots from various regions, where he introduced his character, showcased talents, and participated in a parade, receiving great responses from visitors to the Seoul International Tourism Expo. He also introduced tourist attractions in Jinju City, faithfully performing his duties as a tourism ambassador.
The Seoul International Tourism Expo is organized by KOTFA and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and Korea Tourism Organization. It offers the latest tourism trends from local governments nationwide and travel information and traditional cultures from over 40 countries worldwide.
A city official said, “Through the collaboration content between Harmo and Pengsoo and this event, Harmo has laid the groundwork to gain nationwide recognition not only for Jinju City but also across the country,” adding, “We will continue to make multifaceted efforts so that Harmo can play a significant role as Jinju City’s tourism ambassador.”

Harmo has also been receiving positive responses by appearing in the KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Jinx’s Lover,' filmed on location in Jinju, which has been airing since the 15th. The video of Harmo’s participation in Show Me the Mascot will be uploaded later on SNS channels such as Jinju fan HarmoTV’s YouTube.
