Yeongam-gun Public Health Center Implements Intensive Pest Control Measures Until October
Securing Additional Disinfection Equipment and Installing Pest Control Devices for Pest Eradication
[Yeongam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will conduct summer pest control until the end of October to protect residents' health by eradicating disease-carrying vectors as flying pests such as mosquitoes become more active during the summer.
During the day, mayflies and midges, which are unsanitary and cause discomfort, continuously appear in commercial areas, causing inconvenience to residents.
Larvae control and habitat removal are being carried out in places such as sewers and apartment building basements, and fogging and mist spraying are intensively conducted four times a week before sunrise and before sunset, when flying pests are mainly active, to control summer pests.
In addition, 11 disinfection devices were newly allocated to towns and townships this year, and inspections and repairs of over 200 existing disinfection devices have been completed. For efficient summer pest control, a total of about 200 eco-friendly pest control insect traps have been installed and are in operation.
