KH Construction Actively Collaborates on Post-War Reconstruction Projects in Ukraine
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] KH Construction, an affiliate of KH Group, has joined hands with the Eurasian Business Association for Ukraine war recovery projects.
KH Construction announced on the 23rd that it held consultations to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation with the Eurasian Business Association through the ‘Ukraine Support Joint Countermeasure Seminar’ held on the 22nd at On General Hospital in Busan.
The seminar, hosted by the Ukraine Support Joint Countermeasure Committee, was attended by KH Construction officials, representatives of domestic companies operating in Eastern Europe, and members of the international medical volunteer organization Green Doctors.
KH Construction and the Eurasian Business Association agreed to actively cooperate on Ukraine war recovery (reconstruction) projects through the seminar. They plan to discuss ▲establishing comprehensive platforms and related administrative support for Ukraine reconstruction ▲supporting the selection of partner institutions and companies in the counterpart country ▲legal consultations between countries or within the relevant country to ensure smooth project execution and profit remittance. The Eurasian Business Association is a non-profit organization established to provide local networks to companies, organizations, and individuals wishing to enter the Eurasian market.
Kang Jeong-sik, CEO of KH Construction, said, "We plan to concretize discussions on Ukraine reconstruction with the Eurasian Business Association, which has abundant know-how in the Eurasian region, and the Joint Countermeasure Committee." CEO Kang explained that KH Construction plans to actively collaborate on post-war recovery projects in Ukraine.
The Joint Countermeasure Committee signed business cooperation and exchange agreements with Green Doctors and ON Group through the seminar. Additionally, attendees discussed the application of smart city models for Ukraine’s post-war recovery, cooperation plans for Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects to Ukraine, and the application of a second Marshall Plan.
Jo In-je, Chairman of Actner Lab, emphasized in his presentation titled ‘Application Plan of Smart City Model’ that "New town development based on smart technology, which advanced countries like the US and EU have not yet accumulated, is undoubtedly top-class in South Korea." He proposed, "To rebuild war-devastated Ukraine, it would be competitive to establish several new towns similar to the new towns in the Seoul metropolitan area or Jeonggwan in Busan in Ukraine."
Dr. Hong Eun-pyo of the Korea ESG Management Development Institute stated in his presentation on ‘ODA Cooperation Plan for Ukraine’ that "Ukraine has recently been designated as a key partner country for our country’s ODA projects," adding, "If we discover projects that are competitive and guaranteed by the public sector, we can help Ukraine’s reconstruction through ODA projects."
