On the 22nd, the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency announced that a man in his 60s, Mr. A, was hit and killed by a Mugunghwa train heading from Seoul to Busan Station near the tracks at Busanjin Station in Jwacheon-dong, Busan, around 10:50 p.m. on the 21st.
Mr. A was lying near the tracks when the accident occurred and was reported dead at the scene.
Due to the accident, passengers boarded the next Mugunghwa train and arrived at Busan Station 55 minutes later than scheduled, and two other trains following behind were delayed by 22 minutes.
The accident cleanup was completed around 11:30 p.m., 35 minutes after the accident, and train operations resumed.
