President Yoon mentioned the resumption of construction for Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4, stating, "We will proceed as efficiently as possible to shorten the time."
On the same day, President Yoon visited Doosan Enerbility, a leading nuclear power industry company located in Changwon, Gyeongnam, and held a meeting with nuclear power partner companies, saying, "It is very regrettable that the nuclear power industry, which needs to be further developed, has faced difficulties for several years."
This is President Yoon's second visit to a nuclear power industry site since his election. As a message that the new government will actively support the leap to become a 'nuclear power superpower,' President Yoon said, "Our nuclear power technology is recognized as world-class in terms of technology and safety. The ability to construct on time and on budget according to the budget is a competitiveness of our nuclear power that no company in the world can imitate."
Before the meeting, President Yoon also visited the site where equipment such as the reactor vessel forgings of Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4, whose construction is currently suspended, and the reactor head of Shin Ho-gi Unit 6 are located. At this site, President Yoon criticized the Moon administration's nuclear phase-out policy, saying, "If those responsible for pushing the nuclear phase-out had seen all this and toured the local industrial ecosystem and the site, I wonder if they would have made such decisions."
