[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 22nd that it will provide the 'Emergency Living Stabilization Support Fund for Low-Income Households' in accordance with the government's second supplementary budget.
The support targets about 2,900 households, including basic livelihood security recipients and legally designated near-poverty groups who qualified before the 29th of last month, as well as single-parent families eligible for child-rearing support.
The support fund will be provided once on a temporary basis, ranging from a minimum of 300,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,450,000 KRW, depending on eligibility and the number of household members.
However, for recipients residing in care facilities, 200,000 KRW per person will be provided as facility subsidies.
The fund will be given in the form of an anonymous prepaid card, which is easy to manage afterward and can be used regardless of region. It can be used until December 31 at places excluding entertainment, leisure, and gambling industries.
Recipients can receive the card by visiting the administrative welfare center in their town or township with their ID starting from the 24th, without a separate application.
A county official said, "We hope this temporary support fund will alleviate the financial burden of low-income households struggling with rapid inflation and help stabilize their lives."
